Job summary

Spirit Airlines is seeking a Schedule Planning Analyst II to build and manage flight schedules that optimize commercial results while meeting operational needs. You will develop the schedule, run what-if scenarios, and implement close-in changes.

Responsibilities include coordinating with authorities, maintaining distribution channels, and collaborating with Operations Control and other departments during the development process. 10% travel may be required.

Job description

This role is a Schedule Planning Analyst II responsible for building and managing flight schedules to drive commercial outcomes while meeting operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop the Spirit Airlines schedule to drive solid commercial results while ensuring operational feasibility.
  • Create what‑if schedule scenarios for new ideas and improvements.
  • Implement close‑in schedule changes for commercial and operational reasons.
  • Adjust the company fleet plan as inputs change day‑to‑day.
  • Coordinate with government authorities on schedule implementation and revisions, including international stations.
  • Assist with internal and external schedule distribution, maintaining the schedule in the reservation system and third‑party channels.
  • Seek ways to make the schedule more commercially attractive from an aircraft gauge and market timing perspective.
  • Run gating at airports from a planning perspective, building and managing gate plots to match facilities footprint.
  • Coordinate with Operations Control, Maintenance, Ground Operations, and other departments during the schedule development process.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned; duties may change with circumstances such as emergencies, rush jobs, or technical developments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Business Administration, Aviation or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Aviation or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access). Ability to develop high‑quality, professional presentations that tell a clear story.
  • Knowledge of schedule software such as Sabre, Schedule Manager, OASIS, Lufthansa Netline and GDS/PSS systems (Sabre, Navitaire, Amadeus) is desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of the commercial aviation world, competitive dynamics, government policy, and general airport operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight commercial and contractual deadlines, prioritizing problems effectively.
  • Domestic & International travel under 10% of time.
Physical Requirements
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing for brief periods.
  • 100% In‑office expectation.
