Job summary

Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall in Newburgh, NY seeks a Health Information Management professional to support physicians in completing medical records and ensuring compliance with JCAHO and NYSDOH standards.

The role analyzes and re-analyzes records, pulls charts for physician completion, and notifies physicians of deficiencies; requires HIM experience and a high school diploma, with an associate degree preferred and RHIT preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical Terminology proficiency required.
• Three years hospital HIM operations experience required; HIT Associate’s degree could substitute for experience.

Education/Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Experience

• Medical Terminology Proficient.
• Three years Hospital HIM Operations experience required (HIT Associate’s degree could be substituted for experience requirement).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize required.
• Solid computer skills.

Licensure, Registration or Certification

• RHIT preferred.
