Job description

Analyst Engineer I - CFD / FEA (Entry Level)

HRST, Inc. | Employee-Owned Engineering Company

Launch Your Engineering Career Solving Real-World Thermal & Mechanical Challenges

Are you graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and looking for more than a traditional design role?

At HRST, you'll apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems for power generation facilities around the world using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), heat transfer, and engineering mechanics.

We're seeking an Analyst Engineer I who is passionate about engineering analysis, enjoys solving challenging technical problems, and wants to build expertise while working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative, employee-owned company.

Why HRST?

HRST is a global engineering company specializing in innovative solutions for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and power generation equipment. As an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, every employee has a direct stake in our success.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers on meaningful projects that improve the reliability, efficiency, and performance of power plants throughout the world while building technical expertise that will shape your career.

What You'll Do

As an Analyst Engineer, you'll work with experienced engineers to:

  • Perform engineering analysis for complex thermal and mechanical systems.
  • Develop Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models.
  • Analyze heat transfer, fluid flow, and structural performance.
  • Evaluate engineering data and recommend practical solutions for customer challenges.
  • Support root cause failure analyses and performance improvement studies.
  • Prepare professional engineering reports and technical documentation.
  • Participate in field inspections and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Continue developing your technical expertise through mentoring, project experience, and ongoing learning.

We're Looking For Someone Who

We are specifically seeking recent engineering graduates who have demonstrated a strong interest in engineering analysis.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Strong academic background in:
  • Heat Transfer
  • Thermodynamics
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

We are particularly interested in candidates who have one of the following:

  • A recent undergraduate degree with a senior capstone project focused on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Thermo-Fluids / Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

OR

  • A recent master's degree with thesis research or engineering experience involving Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Engineering Mechanics, Thermo-Fluids, or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • ANSYS Mechanical
  • ANSYS Fluent
  • ANSYS CFX
  • MATLAB
  • Python

Why You'll Love This Role

This isn't a position where you'll spend years doing repetitive calculations.

You'll:

  • Learn from experienced industry experts.
  • Work with advanced engineering simulation tools.
  • Gain exposure to customer projects across the power generation industry.
  • Build expertise in CFD, FEA, and thermal analysis.
  • Develop into a technical leader through mentorship and real project experience.

To Apply

Please submit:

  • Resume
  • A brief description of your senior capstone project or graduate thesis (if applicable), highlighting your use of CFD, FEA, Engineering Mechanics, or Thermo-Fluids.
  • Three professional or academic references. Reference checks are an important part of our hiring process and will be conducted for candidates selected to move forward.
