Job summary

REV Renewables is recruiting an Analyst, Commercial Operations in Houston to support energy market analytics, inventory and trade reconciliation, and contract administration. You will coordinate with Trading, Accounting, Risk, Credit, and FP&A to ensure data integrity and optimized commercial decisions in a fast-paced energy environment.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in economics or finance with 2–4 years’ data experience, and have insight into PJM/CAISO markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience collecting, validating and analyzing data from various sources, preferably in energy/commodity markets.
  • Insight into PJM and CAISO markets
  • Strong organization and communication skills coupled with intellectual curiosity and ownership mentality.
  • Desire to achieve an advanced level of knowledge and understanding commercial and operational considerations of commodities trading, commercial asset optimization and energy markets.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with strong problem solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support commercial operations across energy and environmental commodity markets, including power, capacity, and RECs.
  • Manage ISO, resource adequacy, and capacity market operations, including scheduling, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Administer bilateral contracts and confirmation workflows, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
  • Maintain trader blotter integrity, ETRM data accuracy, and commercial documentation to support audit readiness and controls.
  • Collaborate with Trading, Accounting, Risk, Credit, and FP&A to support cross functional reporting and operational processes.
  • Maintain relationships with ISOs, exchanges, FCMs, and counterparties to support efficient market operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimization, and ad hoc commercial analysis.

Job Summary:

This role requires an analytical and detail-oriented professional with interest in energy markets, commodity operations, and commercial analytics. A robust candidate possesses strong organizational skills, intellectual curiosity, and an ownership mindset to manage inventory and trade reconciliation across multiple markets and products as well as complex contract administration. The ideal candidate demonstrates problem-solving abilities, is comfortable with multitasking, and has strong communication skills to enable effective collaboration with cross-functional teams including Trading, Accounting, Risk, Credit, and FP&A. Success in this role depends on an understanding of the trade life cycle, ISO and capacity market operations, and the ability to maintain data integrity while supporting optimized commercial and operational decision-making in a fast-paced energy environment.

Required Education/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or related field.
  • Project management certifications are a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience collecting, validating and analyzing data from various sources, preferably in energy/commodity markets.
  • Insight into PJM and CAISO markets
  • Strong organization and communication skills coupled with intellectual curiosity and ownership mentality.
  • Desire to achieve an advanced level of knowledge and understanding commercial and operational considerations of commodities trading, commercial asset optimization and energy markets.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with strong problem solving and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk, using a computer workstation.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle long periods of screen time and typing.
  • Must be able to have effective time management skills, with the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
