Job summary

OFG Bancorp is seeking an Analyst for its US Banking Commercial Loan Program in San Juan, PR and Charlotte, NC. You will assist in underwriting new commercial loans across industries and support portfolio management with financial models and risk analysis.

The role is hybrid, reports to San Juan, PR, and requires 1+ years in credit analysis, with a strong emphasis on quantitative skills and Excel-based modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Economics, or business related degree required.
• MBA preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis/portfolio management required.
• Knowledge of capital markets and commercial/corporate product offerings, including syndicated/leveraged lending desired.
• Strong skills in quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and credit analysis required.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support in the preparation of new credit underwritings, loan modifications, and periodic credit reviews.
• Perform all required financial spreads and build financial models for valuation and forecast.
• Assess and evaluate credit risk of borrowers and flag early warning signals.
• Upload documentation for credit underwriting and approval.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Leads and Portfolio Manager on portfolio reports and industry research.
• Stay informed on industry news affecting the US Loans portfolio.
