BlueWave is a mission-driven clean energy developer, owner, and operator building solar and energy storage solutions that strengthen the electric grid and deliver long-term grid value.

We partner with landowners, farmers, municipalities, and investors to advance projects that support working land while expanding the benefits of affordable, reliable energy. Our approach combines thoughtful siting, dual-use development, and long-term ownership to ensure every project is built for lasting impact.

We are committed to balancing strong financial performance with positive social and environmental outcomes.

About the role:

BlueWave is seeking a Project Finance Analyst to support the financial modeling, project evaluation, and capital markets activities for our growing portfolio of solar and battery storage projects. Reporting to the Senior Director of Capital Markets, you will play an important role in developing financial models, analyzing project economics, supporting financing and acquisition activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance projects through development, construction, and operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to build expertise in renewable energy project finance while contributing to BlueWave's mission of accelerating the clean energy transition.

What you'll do:
  • Build, maintain, and update project-level financial models for BlueWave's solar and battery storage portfolio.
  • Support project financing activities, including construction debt, tax equity, and long-term debt transactions.
  • Prepare financial analyses and investment materials to support project development, financing, and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the development team and external partners to evaluate offtake, financing, and project structuring opportunities.
  • Assist with financial modeling, due diligence, and valuation analyses for project acquisition opportunities.
  • Support capital markets activities by preparing transaction materials, reviewing financing proposals, and responding to diligence requests.
  • Work with Capital Markets team members and external consultants to analyze revenue projections, project economics, and investment returns.
  • Partner with Strategy & Origination, Policy & Government Affairs, Legal, and Project Development teams to evaluate market rules, incentives, and other factors that affect project economics.
  • Provide financial support throughout the development, construction, and operational lifecycle of projects, including coordinating model handoffs to the Asset Management team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, infrastructure finance, project development, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint and financial presentation materials.
  • Understanding of project finance concepts and renewable energy financing structures, including debt and tax equity.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Interest in renewable energy markets, project development, and project financing structures.
  • Experience with renewable energy acquisitions, project valuation, or transaction support is a plus.
  • Prior experience in renewable energy investment banking, project finance, or infrastructure investing is preferred but not required.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per year + bonus. Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, certifications, and relevant experience as outlined in the job description above.
