Job summary

Hoffmaster is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to gather, analyze, and visualize data to support data-driven decisions. You will work with diverse data sources, apply BI tools, and provide insights for strategic planning and operational improvements.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree in a technical field, 2 years of related experience, and strong skills in SQL, Power BI, DAX, and ETL with knowledge of data warehousing concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level data analytics capabilities are expected with strong SQL and BI tooling.
• Experience with data governance and data quality practices is a plus.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehouse design (Kimball/Inmon) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and integrate data from multiple sources to form a unified dataset for analysis.
• Create clear, concise reports and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation and quality processes.
• Develop data governance standards and maintain documentation for analytics solutions.
• Support automation of reporting and reduce manual data tasks.
• Collaborate with IT, business units, and management to meet data needs.
• Document developed solutions and maintain data pipelines.

About the Role

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing data to help Hoffmaster make data-driven decisions. You will work with various data sources, tools, and technologies to provide insights that support strategic planning and operational improvements.

• Clean, and integrate data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and external data providers, to create a unified dataset for analysis.
• Create clear and concise reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing data validation and data quality processes.
• Assist in establishing data governance practices, data standards, and best practices within the organization.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and research to address specific business questions or challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and management, to understand their data needs and deliver solutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation for developed solutions.
• Support automation of reporting and reduction of manual data processes

The Essentials

• Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related technical discipline required
• 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Strong Understanding and experience working with relational databases, especially in Microsoft SQL Serve.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data transformation ETL technologies and data warehouse design theory (Kimball data modeling/Inmom).
• Experience building solutions in Power BI.
• Experience with DAX and SQL.
