UL Research Institutes in Morrisville, North Carolina is seeking an Analysis Software Engineer II to design, build, and maintain Python-based data pipelines and web-based applications for the Chemical Insights mission. You will work with scientists, engineers, and designers to deliver scalable software supporting data curation and evaluation.

The role requires strong Python data-science tooling, web frameworks, cloud services, and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Advanced software development skills with full-stack experience.
• Experience building data pipelines and REST APIs for scientific data.
• Familiarity with Polars, Pandas, Numpy, SciPy in Python.
• Proficient in modern web frameworks and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python-based data pipelines for scientific data.
• Develop web-based applications and REST APIs for data curation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with scientists, UX/UI designers, and other developers to deliver features.
• Integrate applications with databases, APIs, HPC systems, and external sources.
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain documentation for internal users.
