Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an Analog Design Lead within the Custom Silicon Management group in Cupertino, CA. You will drive and lead technical engagements with vendors to define and deliver next-generation custom silicon for Apple products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to specify requirements, develop and test silicon, and ensure first-pass success and reliability on aggressive schedules.

Qualifications

  • BS degree and 10+ years relevant industry experience.
  • Experience designing analog and/or mixed-signal IC blocks.
  • PhD and 5+ years experience managing design teams.
  • Experience with multiple tape-outs reaching production with first pass silicon.
  • Ability to drive and improve design methodology to achieve high quality first silicon.
  • Experience with FPGA emulation, silicon bring-up, characterization and debug.

Responsibilities

  • Work on silicon spanning Health/Camera/Connectivity programs.
  • Work with the Systems and Platform teams to establish silicon requirements.
  • Lead efforts to develop, integrate, characterize, and test silicon.
  • Deliver first revision production worthy silicon per system requirements, on schedule.
  • Drive continuous improvements in analog design methodology to achieve high quality first silicon.
  • Collaborate with vendors to manage development of new process technologies and next-gen architectures.
  • Ensure designs are properly verified, validated, and tested for long-term reliability.
  • Manage schedules and support multi-functional engineering efforts.

We have an extraordinary opportunity for a silicon design engineer to drive and lead technical engagements between Apple and silicon suppliers working on groundbreaking technologies! The Apple Custom Silicon Management Group provides critical custom silicon for all mobile products including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and AppleTV. We are looking for a remarkable Analog Design Lead to work with multi-functional teams and external vendors to define, develop and productize the next generation of custom silicon solutions.

Description

Imagine yourself at the center of our hardware development effort where you will collaborate with all disciplines, playing a strategic role of getting functional products to millions of customers quickly. As a part of the CSM (Custom Silicon Management) team responsible for the delivery of high-quality, on-time silicon, you will have responsibilities spanning all aspects of silicon design.

Responsibilities
  • Work on silicon spanning Health/Camera/Connectivity programs.
  • Working with the Systems and Platform teams to establish silicon requirements.
  • Leading efforts to develop, integrate, characterize, and test silicon.

  • Working collaboratively with vendors to manage the development of new process technologies and next-generation architectures and circuit designs.

  • Managing schedules and supporting multi-functional engineering efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS degree and 10+ years relevant industry experience
  • Experience designing analog and/or mixed-signal IC blocks
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD and 5+ years experience managing design teams
  • Experience with multiple tape-outs reaching production with first pass silicon
  • Ability to drive and improve design methodology to achieve high quality first silicon
  • Experience with FPGA emulation, silicon bring-up, characterization and debug
  • Able to work with multi-functional teams within Apple and external vendors across geographical boundaries to resolve architectural and implementation challenges with an eye towards schedule

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,500 and $311,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
