Job summary

RTX in Marlborough, MA is seeking engineering students for internships/co-ops focused on power conversion, analog circuitry, and servo/motor control systems. You will work with a team of engineers to develop designs based on requirements and RTX guidelines, and provide support to production, integration and test activities.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, with coursework in circuit theory, signals/systems, and PSPICE or MATLAB/Simulink.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree majoring in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Coursework in Basic Circuit Theory, Signals and Systems, Physics: Electronics and Electromagnetism.
  • Coursework in modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based tools.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a team of engineers to develop designs based on requirements, operational specifications, and RTX guidelines
  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion, analog circuitry, or servo/motor control systems
  • Provide support to production, integration, and test activities
  • Gain exposure to analog, power, or motor/servo control engineering design
  • Travel to Marlborough, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may be required depending on the assignment

What You Will Do:

Qualifications

  • Coursework in modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based tools.
We Prefer
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
  • Coursework in Microcircuits, Semiconductor Device Theory, Power Electronics/Systems, Control Systems.
  • Hardware development experience.
  • Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components.

  • Power Conversion – AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls
  • Power Distribution – Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro‑Power, DC, AC, Multi‑Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems
  • Power Sub‑System Design – Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress Analyses
  • Control Systems – Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation Algorithms

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD.
