Are you ready to explore the world of aerospace and defense? Do you want to learn from and collaborate with some of the greatest minds in the industry? At RTX, our internships, co-ops and full-time careers provide an exceptional foundation to work on complex problems, advance your skills and create a safer, more connected world. Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. Raytheon's Effector Power (EP) Team is looking for an Electrical Test Engineer I with education and experience in performing circuit card testing and troubleshooting to the component level utilizing schematics and test equipment. The Effector Power Department is responsible for the development, from concept to integration, of Telemetry and Flight Termination products; power systems from all up round to the lowest level power regulation; servo electronics supporting all mechanical motion in our products and low noise mixed signal electronics that provides the analog to digital interface to our front-end sensors. Each of these products generally operate in lower power and voltage ranges less than 10kW and 1000V.

What You Will Do:
  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry.
  • This circuitry will dominantly involve non-isolated and isolated switch mode power converters and linear converters.
  • Main emphasis is on board-mounted power end use applications.
  • Help to see circuit card development through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
  • Test and validate circuit card designs by developing test procedures, performing data capture, and analyzing results to confirm adherence to project requirements.
  • Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, with moderate support from senior engineers.
  • Assist in layer stackup definition.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with one or more of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
  • Experience using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or other similar tools.
  • Experience with analog electronics design, including at least one of the following: FETs/BJTs, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in any one of the following: Familiarity with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) in power electronics designs.
  • Simulators such as SIMPLIS or SABER, or Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx.
  • Acting as a liaison between program and functional management in a cross-matrixed organization.
  • Military specifications.
  • Design considerations for voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW.
  • Three-phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development.
  • Program management tools such as Earned Value.
  • Proposal development.
What We Offer:

Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX we value: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation.
