Job summary

CompHealth is assisting in placing a pathologist in a government facility setting in Alaska. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no on-call requirements and a mix of frozen sections, cytologies, and bone marrow cases. Housing and travel are arranged, and malpractice coverage is provided.

The position offers support with credentialing and a dedicated recruiter to handle logistics, with a long-standing history of connecting providers to suitable assignments across the nation.

Qualifications

• 0–5 frozen sections daily; histology cuts performed.
• 1–2 non-gyn cytologies and 1–2 fine-needle aspirations per day.
• 4–8 bone marrow cases per month; locum does not aspirate.
• Government facility setting.
• Histotechnologists assist with grossing.
• No autopsies; fetal autopsy approx. 1 per month.
• General anatomic pathology and clinical pathology; no blood bank.

Responsibilities

• Perform 0–5 frozen sections daily.
• Handle 1–2 non-gyn cytologies and 1–2 fine-needle aspirations daily.
• Process 4–8 bone marrow cases per month.
• Operate in a government facility setting.
• Work with histotechnologists on grossing.
• No autopsies; fetal autopsy about 1 per month.
• Conduct general anatomic and clinical pathology; no blood bank.

• 1 - 2 non-gyn cytologies and 1 - 2 fine needles per day
• 4 - 8 bone marrows per month -- locum does not aspirate
