Job summary

Six Flags Corp is seeking a skilled Amusement Ride Mechanic in Ohio to inspect, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot rides and related equipment, ensuring safety and optimal performance for guests.

You will conduct inspections, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and document all work. Advanced welding and metalworking tasks may be required. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of verifiable experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or amusement park setting.
• Familiarity with power transmission components such as bearings, bushings, couplers, and shafting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections (daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and as required) of rides and equipment and take corrective action.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, including inspection, repair, and testing of ride components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
• Follow repair procedures and document inspections, maintenance, and repairs for management.
• Communicate ride status updates clearly in reports and verbally.
• Maintain equipment in a safe and operational condition per codes and policies.
• Perform advanced tasks such as MIG/TIG/Arc welding and operate metalworking tools.
• Read technical docs and blueprints to support repairs and replacements.
• Support other maintenance activities and projects as assigned.
