Job summary

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is seeking a Ride Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, and rehabilitate amusement rides and attractions. You will maintain gearboxes, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, wire rope, and bearings, with climbing work at heights up to 300 feet.

Responsibilities include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, documenting inspections, and ensuring safety compliance. The role requires 2–4 years of maintenance experience, coaster carpentry preferred, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2–4 years of verifiable mechanical maintenance experience.
• Coaster carpentry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of gear ratios, torque and use of common hand tools.
• Familiarity with bearings, bushings, couplers, shafting and power transmission components.
• Knowledge of pneumatic or hydraulic systems; preferably both.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Able to work safely at heights up to 300 feet.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid State Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections of rides and equipment, addressing issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance, repair or replace major components (gears, hydraulics, hoses, brakes).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and take corrective actions.
• Keep accurate repair records and inspection logs and submit paperwork timely.
• Work safely and coordinate with others to achieve desired results.
• Read and apply manufacturer manuals and blueprints for service or component replacement.
• Provide guest service according to Six Flags standards when assisting guests and staff.
