Job summary

Winchester at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO is seeking an Ammunition Manufacturing Technician. You will operate and maintain high-speed automated equipment, monitor PLC/HMI systems, and perform preventative maintenance.

Shifts include weekend nights and weeknights with overtime opportunities. Starting pay is $30.18/hr, rising to $36.84 during training and wage increases, with overtime up to 60 hours per week and potential annual earnings up to $95,500.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Willing to work weekends and nights as required.
• Experience with mechanical equipment and manufacturing systems.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with machine tools preferred; automation/PLCs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on high-speed automated ammunition manufacturing equipment.
• Use PLC and HMI systems to monitor performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Make adjustments, calibrations, and process controls to ensure safe, efficient production.
• Conduct quality inspections using precision instruments and tests to verify specs.
• Analyze production, quality, and safety data and contribute to continuous improvement.
