Job summary

CF Industries Inc. is seeking an Ammonia Terminal Operator to perform loading/unloading and maintenance duties at a facility in Illinois. Work includes 12-hour rotating shifts, emergency response duties, and adherence to safety and environmental programs.

You will be part of a team focused on safe operations, recordkeeping and continuous improvement, with opportunities for progression and training within the company’s broader network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; plus equivalent of 2 years college, Military/technical training, or related work experience.
• Ability to understand and follow operating procedures.
• Refrigeration knowledge commensurate with position level.
• HAZMAT certification (post-employment requirement).
• Ability and initiative to exercise independent or team-oriented action.
• Must have basic computer skills and be capable of data entry and information retrieval.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload products per procedures.
• Maintain equipment, buildings, and grounds per procedures; inspect, perform maintenance, and order supplies.
• Test and record refrigeration gauge readings and samples.
• Maintain manuals and records accurately.
• Follow training, environmental, health and safety programs.
• Assist in training other operators.
• Coordinate with Emergency Response personnel during safety situations.
• Perform hazardous material spill response/remediation as needed.
• Progress through the Operator Progression Program.
• Perform other duties and assist with maintenance/projects as directed.
• May assume management responsibilities if the facility manager is absent.
