Job summary

Greater Omaha Packing Co. is seeking an experienced refrigeration technician to maintain and operate industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. Your role includes preventive maintenance, control operation, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced facility.

The ideal candidate has GCAP Operator 1 certification, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining safety standards and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• GCAP Operator 1 Certificate or equivalent in ammonia refrigeration.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and maintenance.
• Willingness to participate in HAZMAT training and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair refrigeration systems including oil changes and safety checks.
• Operate remote and local controls for ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Work with blast freezers and multi-stage compressor setups.
• Troubleshoot minor electrical and controls issues.
• Participate in HAZMAT training and HAZWOPR procedures.
