Job summary

OSI Group is seeking an experienced refrigeration technician to maintain, repair, and inspect ammonia refrigeration systems in a food manufacturing environment. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, emergency response, and adherence to safety procedures, with on-site work in our Iowa plant.

Associates degree preferred, with ammonia certification considered a plus and proficiency in MS Office for reporting.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• Associates degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Ammonia Refrigeration Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Confer with operators and observe, test, and evaluate operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
• Interface with state and federal government agencies as required.
• Operate refrigeration and utility systems.
• Perform daily chemical testing and logging all test results, making adjustments required to maintain refrigeration and utility system within established limits.
• Follow safety procedures and policies, use protective equipment, and comply with regulations and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
