Job summary

JBS Foods in Carrollton, GA is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to maintain and service ammonia refrigeration systems and related plant utilities to ensure safe operation.

You will perform PMs of compressors, boilers, HVAC units, and related equipment; document repairs; and stay compliant with PSM. Weekend availability and proper PPE use are required. Hazmat readiness is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of verifiable ammonia refrigeration experience.
• RETA Certification or equivalent training is a plus.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with compressors, pumps, HVAC, boilers.
• Willing to acquire Hazmat Responder Certification and join Hazmat team.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining refrigeration equipment and plant utilities (boilers, air compressors, pumps, motors, valves, etc).
• Document daily repairs and awareness of potential problems, and maintain PSM paperwork.
• Perform preventive maintenance on compressors, boilers, air compressors, valves, etc.
• Communicate with Maintenance Management and production staff with information on production.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area using hand tools.
• Be available for weekend work and/or additional shifts.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines of the Company.
