Primary Responsibility: Works independently, performs advanced maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse.
Reviews inspection and repair reports and observes progress of work on major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and work quality.
What You'll Do:
- Performs all repair and adjustment of refrigeration systems, doors, dock boards, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical work in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Inspects forklifts, pallet jacks, and other operating equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
- Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
- Tests and calibrates HVAC equipment.
- Inspects completed work for compliance with blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoots equipment and recommends corrective actions.
- Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses tools and equipment carefully as instructed.
- Maintains batteries and chargers in working order in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Conducts tests of safety equipment (exit signs, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, etc.) to ensure OSHA and operational standards.
- Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records.
- Follows attendance policy, shows up on time, and is ready to work assigned shifts.
- Responds to after-hours callbacks as needed.
- Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties as required.
- Performs related work and other job assignments as required.
What Experience and Education You Need:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Candidates with RETA courses preferred.
- Successful candidates will be required to certify in six courses within the first 18 months.
- Hazmat trained candidates are preferred and must obtain and maintain certification.
- Must be certified to test sprinkler systems (if applicable).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM program.

- 8+ years maintenance mechanic experience.

- Ability to follow instructions and interpret sketches and diagrams.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
- Knowledge of maintenance equipment, ISO, SAP, Microsoft programs, and forklift operation.
Physical Requirements:
- Tolerance for working in environments with temperatures from -15°F to outside conditions.
- Ability to work at heights up to 35 ft.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch.
- Lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Use hand and power tools.
- Specific vision abilities required.
Work Environment:
May include inside controlled temperatures and outside conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation. Ability to work nights and weekends, pass physical and respiratory exams.
