Job summary

JobSquad in Carol Stream, IL is seeking 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Technicians to support high-volume food production. Starting pay is $40.00-$45.00 per hour.

This role requires hands-on maintenance of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and refrigeration issues, maintaining boilers, air compressors, HVAC systems, and ensuring safety procedures per IIAR and OSHA standards; bilingual

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and ammonia refrigeration issues.
• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems supporting high-volume food production.
• Perform maintenance on high-pressure boilers, air compressors, and air handlers.
• Service HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and refrigeration issues to minimize downtime.
• Follow and enforce IIAR, OSHA, and plant safety procedures.
• Be able to perform work duties without supervision and report to supervisor.
• Have a background in low voltage, 480 volt electrical.
• Recognize when the refrigeration system is out of parameters and take corrective action.
