Job summary

JobSquad Solutions Team is seeking an Ammonia/Refrigeration Maintenance Tech for the Carol Stream, IL area. The role supports 1st and 2nd shifts with specific pay scales and multiple maintenance levels.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting ammonia refrigeration systems, performing preventative maintenance, and reading manuals and work orders. Requires 2-year trades training or equivalent maintenance experience; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing - co-packaging industry refrigeration is a plus.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
• Ensure safety policies and GMPs are followed at all times.

• Looking for a mechanic/technician from food manufacturing - co-packaging industry; refrigeration experience is a bonus.
• Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make-adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
• Utilize Microsoft Office to order and schedule parts and jobs.
• Perform work safely and follow GMPs at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned

The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for a 1st and 2nd Shift – Ammonia/Refrigeration Maintenance Tech to work at a company located in the Carol Stream, IL area!

Job Title: 1st and 2nd Shift – Ammonia/Refrigeration Maintenance Tech

Job Location: Carol Stream, IL

Salary: Salary Pay range depending tier/experience - $26.90 to $41.45 depending on experience

Maintenance I Pay Rate: $26.90

Maintenance II Pay Rate: $33.50

Maintenance III Pay Rate: $37.20

Maintenance IV Pay Rate: $41.45

Shift: Monday through Friday + Weekends as Needed

1st shift – 4am – 1:30pm

2nd shift – 12:30pm -9pm

Bilingual – English/Spanish Preferred

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Able to communicate and take direction from Sanitation Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Attention to detail.
• Legible record-keeping and data entry skills.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and have creative problem-solving abilities.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Welding and fabrication, full understanding of 3 Phase electrical, tree phase motor controls.
• Troubleshoot AC & DC drives.
