Job summary

Prestage is seeking an industrial refrigeration technician to operate and maintain the ammonia-based systems at our turkey processing plant. The role requires mechanical aptitude and a drive to build a career in refrigeration, with responsibility for installation, repair, and preventive maintenance.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of ammonia refrigeration experience, be able to read blueprints, work rotating shifts including weekends, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration.
• Able to work flexible start times and rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
• Able to work in hot, cold and wet environments.
• Able to work in confined spaces.
• Able to stand, squat and climb on a regular basis.

Job description

To operate and maintain the industrial refrigeration system for a turkey processing plant. The technician position applies for individuals with mechanical aptitude and ambition to continue a career in the refrigeration field.

• Installation and repair of industrial refrigeration equipment in accordance to blueprints and engineering specs.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Provide preventive maintenance to the ammonia systems.
• Knowledge of Frick screw and reciprocating computer systems and ice making systems.
• Maintain logs and paperwork
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and promote a safe work environment for self and coworkers.
