Primary Responsibility:
Works independently, performing advanced maintenance and repairs throughout the warehouse. Reviews inspection and repair reports and observes work progress on major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and quality.
What You'll Do:
- Performs repair and adjustment of refrigeration systems, doors, dock boards, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical work in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Inspects forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
- Reviews inspection and repair reports, observing work on major overhauls to assess efficiency and quality.
- Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments like voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges. Calibrates HVAC equipment.
- Inspects completed work for compliance with blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoots equipment and recommends corrective actions.
- Maintains tools and machinery in good condition, using tools carefully as instructed.
- Maintains batteries and chargers per OSHA standards.
- Conducts safety equipment tests (exit signs, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems) to ensure OSHA and operational standards.
- Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records.
- Follows attendance policies, arriving on time and prepared for shifts.
- Responds to after-hours callbacks as needed.
- Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties.
- Performs related work and other assignments as required.
What Experience and Education You Need:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- RET courses preferred; candidates must certify in six courses within 18 months.
- Hazmat training preferred; candidates must obtain and maintain certification.
- Certification to test sprinkler systems required if applicable.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM program.

- 8+ years maintenance mechanic experience.
- High mechanical proficiency.
- Ability to work with hands in mechanical tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and interpret sketches and diagrams.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance equipment, ISO, SAP, Microsoft, and forklift certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Tolerance for working in temperatures of -15°F indoors and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to access heights up to 35 ft., ladders, and stairs.
- Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Good vision including close, distance, color, and depth perception.
- Availability for night shifts and weekends.
- Ability to pass physical and respiratory exams.
