Job summary

Sage V Foods' Little Rock Plant is seeking an Ammonia/Boiler Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain the plant's ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and utilities to ensure safe, efficient production.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to alarms, support audits, and collaborate with maintenance and production teams while complying with OSHA, IIAR/PSM, RMP, USDA, and BRC food safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school a plus.
• 2+ years of experience with ammonia refrigeration and/or boiler operation (food manufacturing experience preferred).
• RETA Certification (CARO/CIRO) or boiler operator license is a plus.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards, IIAR/PSM, RMP, and food safety compliance.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors, and plant utilities.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to keep equipment reliable.
• Conduct daily inspections and log operational data.
• Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and emergency calls to minimize downtime.
• Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to support plant operations.
