Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support routine analytical testing and sample preparation. You will follow SOPs, operate and calibrate lab instruments, and maintain accurate records in our LIMS and logs.

You'll contribute to safety and quality by adhering to GMP/GLP-like practices, disposing of wastes properly, and collaborating with a cross-functional team to troubleshoot out-of-spec results and support audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or science coursework preferred.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, label, and process samples for routine laboratory analysis.
• Perform laboratory tests and analyses following SOPs.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Record test results and data accurately in systems.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, safety, and PPE compliance.
• Assist with QC checks and troubleshooting out-of-spec results.
• Support audits, inspections, and documentation reviews.
