Job summary

New Star Family Justice Center is seeking an AMFT / ASW Therapist to provide individual, group and family counseling to victims of domestic violence. This role also offers opportunities to reach teens through Project Camp HOPE, with supervised hours toward licensure.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential; bilingual candidates are preferred. Master’s degree and completion of 40 hours victim advocate training within two months are required, along with BBS registration.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science; licensure track in progress.
• One year work experience preferred.
• Must complete 40 Hours victim advocate training within first 2 months and obtain Victim Service Provider certification.
• Must be registered with BBS.

New Star Family Justice Center AMFT / ASW Therapist

The New Star Family Justice Center AMFT / ASW Therapist, under the direction of the Executive Director, will provide individual, group and family counseling to victims of domestic violence. This position also offers an opportunity to deliver mental health services to teens through Project Camp HOPE. This is a paid position with supervised hours for licensure. Bilingual candidates preferred. Must have strong communication skills and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and family counseling
• Facilitate the 10‑week Domestic Violence Education Classes
• Maintain activity reports and assist in completion of monthly grant requirements
• Participate in scheduled staff meetings and receive ongoing training

Qualifications

• Ability to interact well with diverse persons, organizations, and groups
• Knowledge of social/cultural dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault victimization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other management systems; comfortable using Zoom and other video conferencing applications
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Education and Other Requirements

Compensation

$30.00 per hour
