Job summary

Conservation Legacy, in partnership with the Stockbridge Munsee Community, seeks an AmeriCorps Utility Maintenance Technician to support drinking water and wastewater systems. You will monitor facilities, maintain records, and participate in trainings to obtain EPA/IHS certifications.

This is an AmeriCorps slot (900 hours over 26 weeks) with a strong emphasis on compliance, safety, and on-call readiness. Service occurs at the Bowler/Wisconsin site and includes training, relocation support, and a

Qualifications

• Must be a member of a Federally recognized Indian Tribe, Band, or Village.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; willingness to obtain diploma prior to education award use.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily monitoring of drinking water and wastewater systems including lift stations, pumphouse, water sphere, sewer and water lines.
• Keep daily records of system information from meters and quantities.
• Assist in maintaining mechanical areas for proper service to utility customers.
• Be available for on-call beyond regular hours for emergencies.
• Participate in training to obtain/maintain utility certifications (EPA/IHS).
