Job summary

Communities In Schools of South Carolina (CISofSC) places AmeriCorps Members in schools across the state to provide wraparound support for students and families. Members work one-on-one or in small groups to foster a caring adult relationship and remove barriers to educational success.

The role emphasizes weekly tutoring, data documentation, and collaboration with school staff. It offers training, a living allowance, and an Education Award upon completion of service.

Qualifications

• Ability to build healthy relationships with diverse individuals.

• Comfort with technology for documentation and program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly tutoring for students through 1:1 meetings or small group facilitation.
• Meet 900 service hours over 11 months; ~20 hours per week.
• Document services and follow CIS/district data practices.
• Work with the School Site Coordinator and AmeriCorps Program Manager weekly.
• Build relationships with teachers, staff, partners, and families.
• Model positive behavior and uphold campus policies.
• Collaborate to implement school-wide services and engage families.
• Support summer enrichment activities as assigned.
• Complete required training and attend orientation and evaluations.
• Participate in designated service events as needed.
