Job summary

Goodwill AmeriCorps is seeking an AmeriCorps Coordinator to operate our programs across Maine and New Hampshire. The role involves recruiting, training, and placing 10 to 50 members, case management, documenting activities, and reporting on program operations at host sites.

The coordinator will travel within ME/NH, communicate with program managers and partners, and help coordinate AmeriCorps programs to support sustainable communities and the agency’s mission.

Qualifications

• 2 years of work or volunteer experience in business, human services, education, or workforce industry
• High School Diploma or GED
• One year experience with AmeriCorps or other forms of national or international service as staff or enrolled member
• Knowledge of and ability to learn web-based data-based applications
• Excellent time management, negotiation, conflict management, organization skills
• Must be able to travel to worksites and training locations
• Knowledge of recruitment, selection, supervision and disciplinary practices
• Criminal background check that meets Agency and AmeriCorps standards
• Preferred: 2+ years experience in AmeriCorps or related fields
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, human services, education or workforce industry

Responsibilities

• Communicates regularly with program managers and staff about operations, needs and issues
• Represents AmeriCorps at State Staff Council, VolunteerNH and VolunteerME meetings and other regional/national meetings
• Recruits, interviews, selects and orients AmeriCorps Members with assistance from placement sites and staff
• Assists in forming working groups to support Recruitment, Communications or Training
• Represents the Agency in interactions with Goodwill community and the public
• Supports triple bottom line by integrating social, economic and environmental goals
• Facilitates a working group within the Goodwill AmeriCorps team
• Travels to host sites and training locations as required
