Job summary

LEMAN is seeking an Americas Head of Sea Freight Procurement to lead global carrier procurement, pricing strategy, and capacity management for LCL/FCL operations. You will design trade lanes, negotiate with core and niche carriers, and drive supplier performance to ensure competitive rates and operational excellence.

The role emphasizes leadership in trade lane development, market insight, and collaboration with sales, operations, and finance to optimize spend and service levels.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of international transportation and freight forwarding experience, focused on ocean freight.
• Proven track record in planning and implementing sales and procurement strategies.
• Knowledge of TSA security regulations and federal import/export regulations is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with and manage relationships with global carriers and vendors.
• Develop procurement strategies and monitor carrier commitments for trade lanes.
• Prepare and communicate rate updates and VID agreements.
• Support operations and resolve carrier-related issues, including rate discrepancies.
• Contribute to gateway strategy, bids, RFQs, and multi-lane opportunities.
