Burnett Specialists Staffing | Recruiting client is seeking a Principal Legal Counsel to lead regional legal matters across the Americas. Based in Houston, TX, this senior role provides strategic guidance to US, Central America, and Latin American operations.

The ideal candidate will act as the primary legal adviser to regional leadership, shape commercial negotiations, and oversee governance, compliance, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in the United States.
• Approximately six years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Broad commercial legal experience including contract drafting, negotiation, and risk management.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.
• Experience advising executives and commercial teams.
• Ability to work across jurisdictions and time zones.
• Experience with cross-border transactions and Latin America.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal adviser for the Americas to regional executives.
• Advise on legal risks, opportunities, contracts, and business decisions.
• Support growth and expansion across the United States, Central America, and Latin America.
• Lead compliance, governance, and risk management initiatives.
• Manage disputes, external counsel, and litigation strategies.
• Lead legal workstreams for market entry and cross-border transactions.
