Job summary

Nomura is seeking an experienced Associate/VP to join the Country Risk Management Team in New York. The role focuses on Americas country risk, including the US/Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, with an emphasis on unstructured problem solving and rigorous analysis.

The candidate will monitor economic, political, and policy trends and communicate insights through various channels such as written pieces and data visualizations.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate in economics, political science, finance or other relevant discipline.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with proven ability to be resourceful and efficient.
• Strong analytical skills and flexible thinking across disciplines.

• Solid professional experience that reflects above skills.
• Preference for in region experience (Latin America) in analytical capacity.

Responsibilities

• The Country Risk Management Team covers ~120 countries and answers critical questions daily.
• Tackle unstructured problems with independence and a rigorous, detailed approach.
• Focus on country risk in the Americas: US/Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Cover a portfolio of countries, sovereigns, sub-sovereigns and/or supranationals in the Americas region and make relevant credit risk decisions.
• Monitor and upkeep a risk portfolio while meeting internal and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate across the firm and support other risk managers and senior management.
