Job summary

Nomura Holdings, Inc. is seeking a country risk analyst to cover the Americas from our New York office. The role focuses on assessing political and economic risk across 120 countries to inform credit decisions within the Risk Department.

You will work with economists, political scientists and finance professionals, tackle unstructured problems, and communicate insights through reports and visuals. A postgraduate background and Latin America experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate in economics, political science, finance or other relevant discipline.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, resourceful and efficient.
• Strong analytical skills and flexible thinking across disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member with regional and global responsibilities.
• Spanish fluency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cover the Americas region (US/Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean) and assess country risk.
• Monitor economic, political and policy trends to anticipate changes affecting Nomura.
• Form and communicate opinions through written pieces, data visuals and presentations.
• Make credit risk decisions on a portfolio of countries, sovereigns, sub-sovereigns and supranationals in the Americas.
• Collaborate across the firm and support other risk managers and senior management.
