Fusion Academy is seeking a remote American Sign Language Virtual Teacher to provide one-to-one ASL instruction for grades 4–12, shaping schedules, creating engaging lessons, and collaborating with passionate colleagues.

The role emphasizes differentiation, mentoring, and supporting social and emotional development, with a bachelor’s degree and ASL expertise; teaching credentials are a plus. Flexible hours and benefits may apply.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required for consideration.
• Advanced knowledge of Deaf / Hard of Hearing Studies, culture, and awareness.
• Strong subject matter knowledge in MS ASL through ASL 5 (grades 6–12).
• Teaching credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus.
• Candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately.

What You’ll Do:

• As a Teacher provide a one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of MS ASL- through ASL 5.
• Differentiate and personalize academic instruction and support social and emotional development in students ranging from 4th - 12th grades.
• Maintain complete and accurate student and teacher records.
• Develop and maintain genuine, positive, and consistent parent teacher communication.
• Support and benefit from a diverse and inclusive campus community.
• Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection, and continuous improvement.
• In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring.
• Other duties as assigned. (i.e. Tutor part-time students)

What We’re Looking For:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required for consideration, as well as a higher-level American Sign Language background.
• Advanced knowledge of Deaf / Hard of Hearing Studies, culture, and awareness.
• Solid subject matter knowledge in most of these areas: MS ASL through ASL 4 at grade levels 6- 12.
• Teaching credentials are a plus but are not mandatory.
• Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus as well as mentoring experience.
• The ideal candidate is passionate, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in an inclusive and diverse school setting.
• Candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately.

Fusion Global Academy teachers are required to maintain a minimum of 24 hours of availability paired across Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday. Friday hours are also encouraged.

All Fusion Academy employees must maintain physical residence in one of the above mentioned states. Employees may, with pre-approval from administration, work remotely out of the country for up to 30 calendar days per year.
