Job summary

Saft, a global battery company and subsidiary of TotalEnergies, seeks an AMER Regional General Manager to drive commercial and operational development for the region, focusing on safety performance and achievement of regional objectives.   • Master's degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical, or electrotechnical engineering or another relevant discipline.
  • MBA, Master's Business or Commercial would be a plus
  • 15+ years of project/program management, business or financial management
  • Knowledge of standard cost accounting and budgetary control
  • Proven leadership under direct management
  • Knowledge of EPC contract and renewable business

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate operations and business activities in the region.
  • Coordinate with Global Operation and central organization for deployment of processes and tools.
  • Coordinate communication between departments (Finances, Engineering, contract administration, contract management, sourcing and Quality).
  • Manage operations team performance.
  • Consolidate and monitor outputs from monthly project reviews.
  • Monitor full Project Portfolio control including all operational and financial indicators (GM, sales, cash).
  • Define priorities in accordance with Product Line strategy.
  • Operation organization setup, staffing and workload management, Trainings, projects closing.

Job description

All About You

AMER Regional General Manager is responsible of the commercial and operational development as well as safety performance of the region. He is in charge of establishing and achieving regional business objectives to support ESS division. He leads commercial actions, the delivery of the region project portfolio based on ESS process and tools, as well as the deployment of after-sales strategy. He is in charge to settle the proper organization, to develop and to lead the team. He is supported by global operation and marketing teams.

Main tasks include:

  • Lead and apply sales management best practices
  • Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the region.
  • Set comprehensive goals for region growth and success
  • Oversee daily operation, planning, evaluating, and optimizing operations to be efficient and cost-effective, using ESS methods and tools and international Standards
  • Relationships with partners, suppliers and customers
  • Region forecast/budget preparation and operational performance monitoring
  • People management, Safety and Integrity monitoring
Requirements

Responsibilities
Coordinate
  • Coordinate operations and business activities in the region,
  • Coordinate with Global Operation and central organization for deployment of processes and tools
  • Coordinate communication between departments (Finances, Engineering, contract administration, contract management, sourcing and Quality)
Manage
  • Manage operations team performance
  • Consolidate and monitor outputs from monthly project reviews
  • Monitor full Project Portfolio control including all operational and financial indicators (GM, sales, cash)
  • Define priorities in accordance with Product Line strategy
  • Operation organization setup, staffing and workload management, Trainings, projects closing…
  • Insure customer intimacy, coordinate with management and sales team to build claim strategy
  • Manage the Key Performance Indicators and prepare information for the business reviews of the division. Explain actuals compared to monthly/quarterly/yearly forecasts
  • Prepare region budget from the market assessment to the consolidation reporting. Validate the figures from the order intake to the IFO and Cash.
Drive
  • Apply sales project management best practices within the region
  • Drive Bid, commercial and Operations for portfolio financial and operational management
  • Leader on Orders, Sales & Cash forecast
  • Consolidate and challenge region investment requirement
  • Be a major actor to Compliance & EHS/Safety actions and performance: be fully compliant with SAFT rules and processes. Ensure the application of the SAFT financial instructions and the ESS instructions in the region. Participate to EHS monitoring actions, perform HSV- Follow SAFT compliance Policies (‘Code of Conduct’) and promote open reporting
Communicate
  • Monitor and communicate an overview of region activity and performance
Improve
  • Launch improvement actions to reach operations excellence. Share of Best Practices and Returns on Experience (RoE) with the PL. Coordinate with Global Operations, Marketing and other central functions
  • Quality and Continuous Improvement for the region
  • Build, lead & coach regional team
