Saft seeks an HSE Coordinator to support management of health, safety, and environmental activities in the United States. The role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, OSHA and VPP standards, and internal policies, while collaborating with customers to meet HSE requirements.

Responsibilities include developing HSE plans, conducting training, auditing projects, and driving continuous improvement in safety culture and processes.

Qualifications

  • Technical or Engineer degree required.
  • Safety certifications or designations desired.
  • 5+ years experience in OSHA standards.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, VPP, NIOSH, NRC, ASSP, NFPA.
  • Knowledge of Worker's Compensation and Return to Work process.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in project specification clause-to-clause reviews to identify customer HSE requirements.
  • Drive HSE compliance during the project phase and lead internal/external reviews.
  • Develop and maintain HSE Plans & other safety documents.
  • Organize and fulfill client EHS requirements for projects.
  • Contribute to system/process improvement and maturity of PM processes.
  • Provide required HSE training to resources involved in projects.
  • Implement environmental management to reduce environmental impact.
  • Lead investigations and root cause analyses to improve safety.
  • Maintain documentation to track HSE tasks across projects.
  • Implement crisis management communications across parties.
  • Conduct HSE project audits and track TRIR metrics.

All About You

The HSE Coordinator will support management of health, safety, and environmental activities to comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and internal/corporate HSE policies, including OSHA & OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Programs), employee health and wellness, as well as other training needs and improvement programs. The HSE Coordinator will assist in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting health, safety, and environmental data for trends and areas of concern, stay on top of Safety legislative/regulatory changes that may influence business functions. This role will collaborate closely with Saft's customers to ensure that customer and product HSE requirements are fulfilled. This position supports the project management team to comply with project specific HSE requirements; this includes reviewing and understanding technical documents that contain critical specific, and sometimes unique, HSE requirements.

Requirements
  • Technical or Engineer degree
  • Additional education including safety certifications or designations requierd
  • 5+ years experience in OSHA standards and experience in safety related role
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, VPP, NIOSH, NRC, ASSP, NFPA, National Safety Council
  • Ability to analyze and provide solutions from safety data sources
  • Understanding of Worker's Compensation and Return to Work process
Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in project specification clause-to-clause reviews to identify customer HSE requirements (process and system) for the different projects an analyze the respective specifications.
  • Drive HSE compliance during the project phase. Lead internal and external (customer) HSE reviews. Manage the configuration of project deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain HSE Plans & other safety & sustainability Documents.
  • Organize and fulfill client EHS requirements for the respective project
  • CONTRIBUTION TO THE SYSTEM/PROCESS by participating in continuous improvement of service and the quality systems and contributing to the improvement of the maturity of the project management/development process
  • Provide required HSE training to resources that are directly and/or indirectly involved in said projects both on project site and off.
  • Implementation of environmental management system to help reduce the company's environmental impact, such as reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and water and energy consumption
  • Champion the implementation of effective investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions crafted to improve safety and drive a culture predicated on injury prevention
  • Maintain detailed documentation to track HSE tasks for every project involved in following mandatory ISO 9001 and 14001 processes, identify and analyze any organizational risk, and develop and implement programs and strategies to mitigate such risks.
  • Responsible for implementing crisis management system, keeping up-to-date, and ensuring proper communication is disseminated across all applicable parties.
  • Conduct HSE project audits, strictly abiding by the Saft Golden Rules and applying them on projeccts. Track TRIR metrics and maintain weekly and monthly records for every project.
