Job summary

Child and Family Services in Fall River, MA is seeking a Recovery Support Navigator to join a multidisciplinary team operating the Mobile Crisis Van (MCV). You will screen, conduct intakes, manage insurance authorizations, and coordinate referrals for mental health and social services.

The role follows a Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm schedule, with 24-hour/acute care staff being essential. A $1/hr language differential applies for eligible languages.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with 42-CFR and privacy rights.
  • Record-keeping as required by CFS and funding sources.
  • Participate in supervision and training activities.
  • Support a welcoming mobile environment for clients.

Job description

The Recovery Support Navigator will be a member of a multidisciplinary team fulfilling their job responsibilities through the utilization of CFS’ new Mobile Crisis Van (MCV). The Recovery Support Navigator will work with identified individuals who receive mental health outreach services through the MCV. The RSN will work closely with recovery coaches and be responsible for screening, intakes, insurance authorizations, and making appropriate referrals for services.

SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME MONDAY-FRIDAY 8AM-4PM

  • Conduct screening and intake interviews to determine consumer eligibility for services

  • Maintain professional relationships and connections with community resources and partners
  • Engage and build rapport with consumer, assist with referrals and coordination to services and resources including but not limited to primary care, mental health treatment, addiction treatment, recovery support, employment specialists, housing specialists, DTA and other social supports
  • Remain knowledgeable about the substance use disorder service system. Link the consumer to treatment and recovery resources including but not limited to Acute Treatment Services, residential treatment, nutritional counseling, support groups, medicated assisted treatment and Narcan education
  • Helps peers to manage crises and strives to create safe spaces when meeting with peers
  • Values communication and follows laws and rules concerning confidentiality, 42-CFR and respects others’ rights for privacy
  • Maintain record-keeping as required by CFS, funding sources, and accreditation authorities
  • Participate in all supervision and training activities as required by CFS, funding sources, and accreditation authorities
  • Assist in maintaining a welcoming mobile environment free of clutter and debris, allowing for a positive therapeutic experience

All 24-hour/Acute Care Services program staff are considered essential. Essential staff are defined as personnel who are expected to report to work as scheduled, regardless of holidays and/or during any emergency situation and/or agency closing (i.e., inclement weather) to ensure the ongoing operations of the program. May have to report to their home location office in the event of inclement weather that poses a danger to the operation of the MCV.

Due to the type of work and client needs, this position may need to work beyond a forty-hour work week. Additionally, essential staff may be required to remain on shift or work an additional shift until relief staff are available.

All 24 hour/Acute Care Services program staff will be assigned a home department. However, there is an expectation that this position mobilizes and responds to cases throughout the catchment areas in times of need and reports to other MCI offices (New Bedford, Fall River, Plymouth) as requested by management.

For overnight positions, staff are required to stay awake for the entirety of their shift.

Travel Required

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets CFS Driver Policy. Travel is required to provide services in different settings and to attend agency meetings, events, and trainings.
