Job summary

Novant Health’s Leland Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a supportive team focused on patient-centered care in an Ambulatory Surgery setting. The role involves evaluating patients on entry, administering pre-op meds, and guiding perioperative teaching through post-op recovery, with advocacy for a smooth patient experience.

Required 2-year/associate degree (required); 4-year/bachelor's degree preferred. One year ASC/PACU/OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a thorough understanding of the RN role and be able to perform functions as per the state nurse practice act.
• Ability to set priorities and organize workload of the unit.
• Knowledge to modify care for age-specific needs.
• Ability to interpret information to identify patient requirements by age.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients as they come in.
• Administer pre-op medication.
• Provide perioperative teaching then post-op recoveries.
• Advocate for patients and ensure a smooth pre/post experience.
