Job summary

Novant Health's Leland Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking an experienced RN to join the perioperative team. You will evaluate patients on arrival, administer pre-operative meds, and guide perioperative teaching through post-operative recovery while advocating for patient needs.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in the state and has 1 year of ASC/PACU/OR experience; ACLS/PALS are preferred. This part-time role is based in Leland, NC with a focus on high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the appropriate state
• One year ASC/PACU/OR experience preferred
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• Thorough understanding of RN role and age-specific care requirements

• Evaluate patients as they arrive for procedures
• Administer pre-operative medications as prescribed
• Provide perioperative teaching and assist with post-op recovery
• Advocate for patients to ensure a smooth pre/post experience

• Schedule: PT 6:30am-2:30pm

What You'll Do

• Evaluating patients as they come in
• Administer pre-op medication
• Perioperative teaching then post op recoveries
• Advocate for patients and ensure a smooth pre/post experience.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience:One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:RN License in Appropriate State, required. ACLS and PALS, preferred.
• Additional Skills (required):Must have a thorough understanding of role of RN and the ability to carry out the functions as stated in the appropriate relevant state nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to age specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
