Job summary

USPI Medical Park Tower Surgery Center in Austin, TX seeks a motivated Full-Time Insurance Verifier to join our team. The role supports outpatient surgical services with 5 OR rooms and requires weekdays only, with occasional early mornings or evenings depending on the surgical schedule.

Responsibilities include validating patient information, verifying benefits, determining co-pays, posting billing comments, and communicating with patients and providers to ensure accurate payment collection.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance verification.
• Excellent communication skills with patients over the phone and in person.
• Medical Terminology experience preferred.
• Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
• Must have skills to operate required office equipment.
• Familiar with patient accounting software, especially AdvantX.
• Knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Validate and enter patient information and insurance coverage into the system.
• Verify insurance benefits by reviewing contracts and patient benefits.
• Determine co-pay amounts.
• Post all insurance and billing comments.
• Enter all information into the patient accounting system.
• Contact patients regarding money due prior to surgery.
• Coordinate with physician offices, insurance carriers, and patients.
