Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking an Ambulatory Surgery Patient Support Assistant for Manhasset Preop/PACU. The role provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, helping with clinical, procedural, and unit operations in the ASC setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, patient rounds, admissions/discharges, and transport; ensuring rooms are stocked and ready for procedures; maintaining infection control and safety; and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant Program, CNA certification.
• BLS/CPR-AED certification required upon entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs and vital signs; monitor patient comfort and safety.
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges; escort patients.
• Prepare and stock rooms; assist surgical teams; uphold sterile technique and infection prevention.
