NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit Pre-Op/PACU. This full-time day position focuses on nursing care, decision-making within the nursing process, and collaboration with physicians and nurse practitioners to implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care.

The role requires a NYS RN license, BLS certification, a Bachelors degree in Nursing, and fluent English.

Formación

• To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited institution (hired after 9/1/2020) or grandfathered if before.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsabilidades

• Performs accompanying duties as assigned within the unit and supports patient care.
• Collects, assesses and documents patient data; prioritizes care based on data.
• Directs coordination of patient care in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner.
• Educates patients and families about health status and care plans; documents outcomes.
• Evaluates progress toward outcomes; adjusts interventions as needed.
• Coordinates unit activities to ensure a healing, humane environment.
• Analyzes unit throughput and quality metrics; supports improvement efforts.
• Complies with NY State Nurse Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
• Organizes staff assignments and delegates appropriately; supports ongoing education.
