Job summary

Children's Health in Dallas, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant in the Psych Ambulatory department to provide outpatient care and support clinical workflows. You will prepare patients, assist with exams, collect specimens, and administer certain vaccines under physician delegation.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in patient care setting or MA program completion required by 4/1/2026.
• Effective 4/1/26, 6 months experience in a patient care setting preferred for new employees.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program by 4/1/2026.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for clinic visits by completing intake documentation, recording vital signs, measuring height and weight, and rooming patients.
• Assist with examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing.
• Administer designated immunizations and medications under physician delegation.
• Coordinate patient registration, appointments, and basic financial tasks.
• Manage insurance authorizations and referrals for assigned clinics.
