Job summary

Health Federation of Philadelphia seeks a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join the Ambulatory Health Services within the Philadelphia Department of Public Health. The PTA will work as part of the primary care team, delivering musculoskeletal and neuromuscular treatments under a PT's supervision.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree, PA PTA licensure, and 1 year of experience with complex populations.

Qualifications

• Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited program.
• Fully licensed PTA in the State of Pennsylvania.
• 1 year experience with complex populations preferred.
• Experience collaborating within interprofessional teams.
• Knowledge of care for under-resourced populations and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

• PTA provides treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions for primary care patients under supervision of a PT.
• Manage and apply therapeutic and preventative interventions.
• Support behavior change, self-efficacy, and skill building.
• Recommending exercise, activity adaptation, and education for self-management.
• Assess patient strengths and preferences; inform clinical reasoning and plan of care.
• Collaborate with PT, medical, behavioral health, and staff as needed.
• Ensure patient engagement, safety, and quality of life in daily operations.
