Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Lab Phlebotomist - Ambulatory to perform venipuncture, skin puncture, EKG, and point-of-care testing in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. The role also includes patient registration and entering lab orders, with duties spread across multiple clinics in central Illinois.

The ideal candidate has 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of Carle Phlebotomy in Training, plus BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of Carle Phlebotomy in Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, finger/heel sticks, and blood cultures.
• Verify patient ID and proper specimen labeling for accuracy.
• Register patients and enter lab orders; operate EKG and point-of-care tests in ambulatory settings.
• Support multiple lab sites including South Clinic Lab and other facilities; handle sample processing and documentation.
