Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Lab Phlebotomist – Ambulatory to perform venipuncture, finger/heel sticks, EKGs, and point-of-care testing in ambulatory clinics. The role includes patient registration, lab order entry, and ensuring accuracy in specimen handling across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED and either 6 months of phlebotomy experience or completion of Carle Phlebotomy in Training. BLS is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomists must have a current BLS within 30 days.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of Carle Phlebotomy in Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture, skin puncture, EKGs and point-of-care testing in ambulatory settings.
• Ensures patient identification and correct specimen labeling to maintain quality.
• Registers patients and enters lab orders in the system (Epic Prelude/SCC Soft Lab).
• Supports multiple lab locations and covers scheduled Saturdays as needed.
