Job summary

You will handle medication labeling, documentation, inventory, third-party billing understanding, and may assist in training technicians. Must have High School diploma; CPhT or ExCPT certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Registration/licensure with state board of Pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• Must obtain CPhT or ExCPT certification within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
• Screens calls and routes using proper etiquette.
• Document removal, stocking, and wasting of controlled substances where applicable.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards when applicable.
• Prepare sterile IV admixtures using aseptic technique when applicable.
• Ensure storage areas meet policies and check expiration dates.
• Document patient demographics and insurance information for records and billing.
• Develop competence in third-party billing functions.
• May participate in training pharmacy technicians and extenders as applicable.
