Job summary

Essentia Health Hermantown Clinic is seeking Pharmacy Technician staff to support ambulatory care operations. The role involves accurate prescription entry, unit dose preparation, non-sterile compounding, inventory control, cash handling, and strong customer service for patients in person and by phone.

Candidates should meet Minnesota Board of Pharmacy education/experience requirements or be enrolled in an accredited Pharm.D. program, with ongoing training and licensure maintained over time.

Qualifications

• Requires Minnesota Board of Pharmacy eligible categories or pharmacist intern registration.
• Board-approved technician training program or Essentia Health employer-based program.
• Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within 1–2 years of hire; on-site/continuing education required.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in daily departmental activities.
• Handle billing and record keeping.
• Provide customer service in person and over the phone.
• Train new staff and pharmacy students.
• Perform monthly audits and clerical duties as assigned.
