Job summary

Essentia Health’s Detroit Lakes Pharmacy is seeking Pharmacy Technicians at Ambulatory Care levels I–III to support prescription processing, compounding, inventory control, and customer service. Roles involve assisting pharmacists, training staff, handling billing and records, and participating in audits across a multi-site setting.

Requirements include board registration, completion of approved technician programs, and time-bound Essentia Health training.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include active Minnesota Board of Pharmacy registration history before Jan 1, 2013
• Board-approved technician training program completion
• Passage of Essentia Health technician training within specified timeframes
• Or continuous registration as Pharmacist Intern with Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
• State registration required before hire and 18+ years age minimum
• Ongoing registration and certification requirements for Minnesota/Wisconsin locations
• Both Minnesota and Wisconsin registrations may be required for some sites

Responsibilities

• Handle accurate computer entry and processing of prescriptions
• Prepare unit-dose medications and non-sterile bulk compounds
• Manage inventory, supplies, and cash handling
• Provide customer service in person and by phone, resolve issues
• Assist pharmacist and train new staff and students, with billing and records
• Support monthly audits and other duties as assigned by the pharmacist
